ESG

We are an SME making a big difference in shaping our environment. We want to make a positive change and pack a big punch when it comes impacting on our surroundings – we don’t do this because we have to. We do this because we want to and forms part of our values. Giving back has been a part of our foundation for years at all levels; from our Managing Director Nicola Millward founding Women in Construction years ago right through to our Charity of the year today.

Our ongoing commitment includes:

  • Supporting ongoing professional development
  • Mobilising a local supply chain
  • Company quality committee
  • Supporting internships
  • Providing financial support to local groups
  • Encouraging staff to support charities which are important to them
  • Work with local schools, colleges and universities to promote our industry
  • Support early careers through work experience and apprenticeships

In Focus – Charity of the Year

Each year the team work together to vote on a Charity of the Year. Working closely with the charity, we support them in numerous ways from financial support to giving up time and resource. In 2026 we are supporting Forever Stars, a charity which supports families affected by baby loss across Nottinghamshire.

In Focus – Early Careers and Apprenticeships

The promotion of engineering is important to us and essential to ensure the industry continues to flourish. We have always supported early careers through Apprenticeships at various levels from college level 3 to degree level.

We also regularly attend careers fairs and welcome work experience students at all levels. We currently have 4 apprentices within the business and are enjoying seeing their careers develop.

Environment and sustainability

Sustainability is a key consideration in our design approach. By focusing on efficient design, appropriate material selection, and buildable solutions, we have naturally worked towards reducing environmental impact across our projects. Our long-term goal is to work towards significantly reducing ours, and our clients, carbon emissions, with practical, achievable steps as our knowledge and capabilities develop.

We embed the principles of PAS 2080 into our thinking—focusing on reducing carbon at the earliest stages of design, carefully communicating material selection, and encouraging efficient, buildable solutions.

Our current focus includes:

  • Reducing energy use and waste within our offices
  • Encouraging unnecessary travel
  • Being mindful of material use and waste
  • Supporting low-carbon design decisions where possible
