Our people deliver a service-driven technical approach. We purposely operate small teams; offering consistency of service and always remain knowledgeable about our clients’ projects.

Our projects vary across size and sector – our teams remain the same and seamlessly integrate to become part of the project. Clients enjoy dealing with the same people, creating a wider-team approach to all work.

Managing Director

Nicola Millward

Nicola joined Millward in 2003, and in 2010 became Managing Director. A former LEA School Governor and board member of Nottingham Regeneration Ltd. Nicola established the Nottingham Women in Construction network in 2005, which today boasts over a hundred members. Nicola leads the business at a strategic level overseeing daily operations and strategic growth. Outside of work, Nicola enjoys cooking and gardening, and travelling with her daughters.

Director of Civils

Jason McKellar

Jason has over 30 years’ experience and leads our Civils team. He manages infrastructure design, highways, flood risk and drainage projects and is expert in feasibility studies and strategic site planning. Jason keeps fit by playing five a side football.

Associate Director, Civils

Ben Johnson

Incorporated Engineer Ben leads on multi-disciplinary schemes across all sectors and acts as Millward's lead for industrial projects, providing support from inception to completion; he remains a trusted key contact for clients to offer advice and practical solutions. With close to 22 years' experience, Ben's designs are buildable and value engineered – he is able to provide upfront advice and take a strategic view on sites to offer clients best value for money and potential time savings, maximising the value of each project. Outside of work, Ben is a keen photographer, is partial to rugby and plays for a local cricket team.

Associate Director, Structures

Helen Erentz

Chartered Structural Engineer Helen leads her team across numerous projects in varying sectors and also manages Millward's Framework activity. With over 14 years' of experience, Helen works across all project stages from feasibility through to design and completion, working closely with the project team to produce well-considered, practical and sustainable designs. Helen is a registered mentor with ICE and supports our Apprentices with their studies. Helen lived and worked in New Zealand for over 8 years before returning home to the UK. She enjoys walking, running and trying various creative hobbies, and has given everything from silversmithing to oil painting a go.

Nezih Yasdiman

Chartered Structural Engineer Nezih leads his team across numerous projects in varying sectors. With over 15 years of industry experience, he delivers projects from inception through to completion. An inquisitive engineer, his solutions are effective and considered, always delivering high quality results for the team. Outside of work, Nezih enjoys being with family and friends and spending as much time as possible outdoors.

Associate, Structures

Dave Hurst

A Civil and Structural Engineer with over 40 years’ experience, Dave has been a key member of the Structures team for over 15 years and now leads on survey work, performing a significant number of structural inspections in varying environments including Listed Buildings, foundations for plant and existing buildings within live environments on quarry sites. As a keen cyclist and motorcyclist, Dave enjoys spending time on two wheels and figure skating with his grandchildren.

Laura Shaw

Laura has worked in the construction industry for nearly 20 years and has worked at Millward for 8 years. Taking a lead on many none-technical activities, Laura has taken responsibility for numerous activities including managing HR activities and client relationships. She now leads on new business growth, reinforcing the Millward brand and maintaining relationships with other consultancies. Outside of work, Laura enjoys travel and going on day trips with her family.

BIM Manager

Jack Simmons

Jack joined Millward to drive forward and enhance our existing BIM procedures and is currently overseeing our move towards becoming ISO 19650 accredited. He manages our team of technicians, delivering drawings and models across all sectors, including Frameworks. Jack is a qualified fitness instructor and personal trainer, and has competed in various challenges across the UK to raise money for charity.
