About Us

We’re Different through Design – exceptional service and excellent design go hand and hand to make us different, that’s why our clients love us.

Millward has been trading for over 30 years as an integrated engineering consultancy working across multiple sectors of construction. Our team solve complex challenges and add value through innovative solutions, from pre-planning to completion. The bulk of our business consists repeat clients, defining Millward as a trusted engineering consultancy who continuously perform and become part of the wider client team. Our history remains an important feature – we continuously change and evolve with the industry to deliver and promote innovation – but at our core, service is just as important as it is today as it was in 1993.

By building our own foundations and promoting customer-centric solutions, we have organically grown and continue to evolve:

  • 1993 – The business was founded by Terry Millward as Millward Associates, with two staff working from an office in Beeston. Key clients included Hanson and Tarmac.
  • 1995 – Our name changes to The Millward Partnership and becomes a Limited company. We start working with long-standing client, The National Grid.
  • 2002 – The office, now employing 11 staff, moves to a larger office at Phoenix Business Park. We begin working on large-scale student accommodation projects across the UK.
  • 2003 – Managing Director, Nicola Millward joins the team as Office Manager and begins working alongside Terry to learn how the business works.
  • 2005 – Nicola sees a massive gap and a lack of networking opportunities for women within the industry and establishes Nottingham Women in Construction – a group which is still active today and boasts over a hundred members.
  • 2009 – The office moves to Nottingham City Centre. We start a relationship with Chinook Urban Sciences, cementing our start within the waste to energy sector.

  • 2024 – After spending time gaining staff clearances and readying our IT infrastructure, we enter the defence sector.
  • 2025 – Continuing to gain momentum into the public sector, Millward is successful on gaining places on Frameworks for Arc Partnership, South Kesteven District Council and Newark and Sherwood District Council
  • 2026 – We are bigger than ever and on track to meet our financial target for the year with exciting work already secured. We are actively recruiting and have refurbished our offices into a great, inviting space. We start working with Forever Stars, our charity of the year.
