As a solution to decreasing burial space in the area, a new cemetery and crematorium was built on the southern edge of Rugby.

Millward carried out the civil and structural engineering designs, including drainage designs, for the new steel framed building, which included split level and integrated retaining walls.The site was a greenfield site, previously used as agricultural land.
