Millward were appointed by G F Tomlinson to carry out the civil and structural engineering designs for the development of a waste transfer station in Whetstone, Leicestershire.

The project comprised of foundation designs that accommodate the thermal and shrinkage movements in the structure, designing the ground floor structural slabs and the steel framework. Millward were also instructed to carry out the designs of the secondary steel works relevant to the project.

Further works included the design and drawings for the drainage running below the building, connecting the building’s drainage to the private drainage system of the recycling and household waste site area in accordance with the designs produced by Leicestershire County Council.
