We’re looking for an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our growing team and play a key role in delivering high-quality building and structural projects from concept through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who enjoys taking ownership, leading project teams and working closely with clients, architects and other design disciplines to turn challenging briefs into successful built solutions.

Key responsibilities
- Leading structural engineering projects from initial concept through detailed design and construction.
- Providing technical leadership and sound engineering judgement across projects.
- Managing project delivery, programmes, resources and technical outputs.
- Coordinating structural design with architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Developing practical, efficient and innovative structural solutions.
- Reviewing and approving calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
- Supporting project teams in resolving technical and construction challenges.
- Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and project partners.
- Mentoring and developing engineers and contributing to the wider growth of the team.
- Supporting business development, fee proposals and winning new work where appropriate.
Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering
- Chartered or near-chartered with ICE or IstructE (or equivalent professional body).
- Typically, 10+ years’ experience delivering structural engineering design for Residential, commercial, industrial and public sector developments.
- Strong project delivery and team leadership skills.
- Excellent technical knowledge and engineering judgement.
- Experience working collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary design teams.
- The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and programme.
- Strong communication skills, both technical and interpersonal.
- A proactive, commercially aware and solutions-focused approach.
- Chartered status or a clear route towards professional registration.
