Co-op Convenience Stores

We have worked on various retail projects including many for the Co-op across the region. We worked on two schemes where demolition was required followed the build of convenience stores.  The first scheme involved the demolition of a public house followed by the build of a Co-op store and two further retail units. The other scheme included the demolition of a GP surgery and the build of a Co-op store.

The single storey units were constructed with load bearing masonry and part steel frame timber roof on traditional foundations. The projects involved highways and drainage design, with the inclusion of customer parking.

We were involved with both projects from planning stage and completed flood risk assessments and site investigation reports. Our involvement continued through to construction and completion.

Added Value

Both schemes required a commercial awareness of working in the retail sector as well as a reactive and proactive approach as both schemes required a swift construction programme to ensure the stores opened in a timely fashion.
