Newark Leisure Centre

This project is the build of a leisure centre in Newark. The new facility includes:

  • 25m main swimming pool
  • 20m teaching pool
  • Sports hall for netball, badminton, 5 a side football, gymnastics, basketball and handball
  • Squash courts
  • Exercise studio
  • Gym with more than 200 fitness stations

The team involved provided both civil and structural engineering services; including external works, drainage and highways, followed by a single stage design and build process. This was followed by the detailed design of all civil and structural drawings.

Added Value

As a public sector scheme, budget remained a key factor. When producing detailed designs, we took into account all the design specifications and requirements made by the client, to ensure all designs matched the brief to remain on budget.  Our involvement in the project also included assisting with the tender review.

This project followed on from the Rushcliffe Arena with Project Managers Turner and Townsend, we were able to utilise this team familiarity to successfully deliver – we were retained by the client during and after tender stage.
